How it works
Save it.
Give it meaning.
Come back to more.
A simple way to capture inspiration, understand what you saved and turn it into your next plan.
Start with a purpose
Create a list for the things you want to collect: books to read, recipes to try, places for a weekend away. Hold This helps clarify ambiguous names, so “Holiday” can become a list of destinations, places to stay or things to do.
This purpose guides the details on your cards. A recipe and a book do not need the same information.
A screenshot or a link is enough
Use the iPhone share sheet, upload screenshots inside Hold This, or paste a link. Choose the destination and save. Notes, questions and reminders are optional — you do not need to fill out a form to keep a good idea.
Multiple screenshots can stay together in one save. If you are in a hurry, put a save in your Inbox and organise it later.
Useful details, with your permission
If you enable cloud enrichment, Hold This uses the original and the list purpose to identify the saved thing and add relevant information. A recipe might bring serving size and preparation time forward. A book might surface its author, genre and a useful reading link where supported.
Results depend on what can be identified and verified. Missing information stays missing; it is not an excuse to invent an answer. Sources remain accessible, and the original is kept even if processing fails.
Ask once. Come back to the answer.
Ask about the thing you saved, in your own words. Where can I read this book? What could our book club discuss? Answers stay with the saved screenshot, alongside its details and your original.
You can ask more than one question. Each question has its own answer, so useful context does not disappear into a separate conversation. Check the supporting sources, then return to it when you need it.
From collecting to choosing
Use priorities, star ratings and your shortlist to narrow things down. Compare two or three shortlisted saves against shared criteria. Add a question when you want to explore something specific, or set a reminder to return at the right time.
Keep your own corrections. Earlier findings can remain available as reference without taking over the useful part of the card.
Good ideas deserve
a place to land.
From the first screenshot to the next great plan.
